The ongoing industrial progress and the onset of industry 4.0 has forced modern industries to evolve their management style in the way they control their inventories. The way inventories are controlled in the company and in the supply chain as a whole are one of the main ways companies can still compete. Lean Kanban tool is one of the main ways of administrating the inventory in stock in order to decrease the need for it and hence have a better profit margin. Sadly, in modern scientific literature an analysis of the implementation of the Kanban process in manufacturing industry has sadly been lacking. This thesis analyses current literature on implementing Kanban in manufacturing industries. Empirical research was done via survey to manufacturing industries workers and semi-conducted interview with a Lithuanian manufacturing companies Kanban implementation leader. This research correlates to a new overall model for implementing Kanban in manufacturing industries, which combines previous models and the research done. |
